Our manual idle controller valve comes set 35 clicks out from fully counter clockwise. That setting is very close for most set ups. A few clicks either way is all you should typically need.

If your idle is high and the knob doesnt seem to do much, please remove and reinstall the valve from the throttle body. It is likely not seated properly. You should feel it drop in and seat with your fingers before installing any hardware.

You can get a check engine light if you have the idle turned too high. Turn the idle lower until the light goes away, then typically you would turn it a little lower after the light goes out.

Oil blowing out of the vent tube on your breather box is almost always caused by overfilling the engine with oil. It is extremely easy to do on the YFZR platform. We recommend keeping the oil level between the medium and full marks.

The oil checking procedure is as follows:

1. Place the ATV on a level surface.
2. Start the engine and warm it up until the engine oil reaches a normal temperature of 60°C (140°F). Let it idle for ten seconds longer, then turn the engine off.
3. Remove the engine oil tank filler cap and wipe the dipstick clean with a rag.
4. Insert the dipstick into the filler hole without screwing it in, then remove it again to check the oil level.
5. The oil level should be between the minimum and maximum marks.

Over the Full line is too much oil and some needs to be removed. After removing oil you will have to repeat the above process until the oil level is at the correct level after you start and idle the machine.

Yes. All years YFZR/X clutch internals will work with the 2009 style basket upgrade kit, with the exception of the clutch washer located between the inner hub and basket. That washer is also included in our kit.
